[Printers and Labels](https://vestigohelp.mccreadiegroup.com/en/knowledgebase/general?hsLang=en#printers-and-labels) September 25, 2026 # Vestigo Printer Troubleshooting If your site is experiencing issues with Vestigo printing, please try the following steps in order.   1. Are you receiving an error message saying "Label Failed Printing"? If so, that means a data point that was entered was too long. Usually this is protocol identifier. We recommend keeping identifiers to 30 characters or less. 2. Power cycling the printer - Please turn the printer off for 15-30 seconds, and turn the printer back on. Allow for an additional 30 second to pass before trying to print to the printer. 3. Try printing to another printer in Vestigo label printer. 1. If you can successfully print to another Vestigo Printer, then you will need to contact your local IT team to determine if anything about the troubled printer has changed in the network or VPN.   If the printer IP has changed, the quickest way to restore connectivity is to set the printer IP back to what it was on the site side 4. Try printing to Vestigo from another device at your site.   Vestigo Support will work as quickly as possible to correct the issue, but our support options are limited and will have to work closely with Local IT support to correct the issue. If you have tried the above, we recommend opening a ticket with your local IT team and [opening a ticket](https://vestigohelp.mccreadiegroup.com/en/vestigo/kb-tickets/new?hsLang=en)with Vestigo Support and sending us the following information. - The name of the **facility** and **printer(s)** that is experiencing the issue - Has the printer(s) been power cycled? - Has the printer been physically moved or connected it to another data port? - Are you the only user experiencing the issue? - Can you or another user able to successfully print from another computer/device? - The name and email of the local IT contact, preferably someone within the local Networking team. A Distribution List (DL) or support email will work.
