# Transferring Inventory to a Different Inventory Location

## How to transfer inventory from one inventory location to another inventory location.

Transferring inventory to another location is a common process at sites and Vestigo allows users to perform the function with ease. The transfer shows two transactions on the DARF: one for the transfer out from the original inventory location, and another for the transfer in to the new inventory location.

**Note -** It may be necessary to receive approval from all required parties prior to transferring the inventory to another location. Please check with your site SOPs prior to proceeding.

 Users can only select inventory locations that are available in the facilities that are listed on the protocol.

1. Navigate to the protocol.
2. Click on the **Inventory Tab.**
3. Click on **Immediate Transfer**.
4. Select the **Drug** from the drop down menu.
5. Select either [Single Transfer](https://vestigohelp.mccreadiegroup.com/en/knowledgebase/transferring-inventory-to-a-different-inventory-location#Single) or [Bulk Transfer](https://vestigohelp.mccreadiegroup.com/en/knowledgebase/transferring-inventory-to-a-different-inventory-location#bulk) and follow the appropriate instructions below.

### Single Transfer

1. Select the **Inventory** from the dropdown menu
2. Enter the **Quantity**
3. Select the new **Location** from the dropdown menu
4. Leave the **Patient** drop down menu as *General Inventory*, unless you are transferring to a participant
5. If needed, adjust the **Service Date**
6. It is optional, but highly recommended to add accountability log comments about the transfer
7. If needed, adjust the number of Labels and Printer.
8. Click the blue **Submit** button

### Bulk Transfer

1. Select the **Inventory** from the inventory grid.
   
   Bulk Transfer transfers the current QOH for the associated inventory line item. If you only need to transfer a smaller number, than you should use the Single Transfer.

    
2. Select the new **Location** from the dropdown menu
3. Leave the **Patient** drop down menu as *No Change*, unless you are transferring to a participant
4. If needed, adjust the **Service Date**
5. It is optional, but highly recommended to add accountability log comments about the transfer
6. If needed, adjust the number of Labels and Printer
7. Click the blue **Submit**button
