# Protocol Scheduled Fees

## Managing scheduled fees on a protocol.

Scheduled fees are fees that can be set to charge automatically at a frequency. These charges are typically meant for annual maintenance fees that sites may charge.

1. Navigate to the **Protocol**
2. Click on the **Billing** tab
3. Click **Manage**
4. Select **Add New** in the Scheduled Fees section
5. Select the **Fee** from the dropdown
6. Set the fee amount (if different from the default)
7. Select the **Billing Account**
8. Set the **Frequency**
9. Set the **Anniversary Date**
10. (Optional) Select any of the two fee [flags](https://vestigohelp.mccreadiegroup.com/en/knowledgebase/protocol-billing-fees#Flags)if necessary
11. Click the blue **Save** button

 

If a scheduled fee is set with a service date in the future, the charge will not charge until that date and then charge based on the frequency setting.

**Note** - Any fees set up with an anniversary date on the 28, 29, 30, or 31 of the month will charge on the 28th of the month.

 

### Modifying Scheduled Fees

Site users can adjust scheduled fees if they were entered incorrectly. If edits are made to the frequency, it will only impact new charges going forward. Historical charges that have already been charged or billed will not be impacted. If the user adjusts the billing account, it will only impact new charges that will drop on the anniversary date.

1. Navigate to the **Protocol**
2. Click on the **Billing** tab
3. Click **Manage**
4. Select **Edit** in the Scheduled Fees section
5. Make the appropriate edits
6. Click the blue **Save** button

 

### Deleting Scheduled Fees

If a scheduled fee no longer needs to be charged, then the fee can be deleted. Historical charges that have already been charged or billed will not be impacted.

1. Navigate to the **Protocol**
2. Click on the **Billing** tab
3. Click **Manage**
4. Locate the fee in the Scheduled Fees
5. Click **Delete**
6. Click **Confirm** to delete the fee
