[**Back to the Order Build Overview**](https://vestigohelp.mccreadiegroup.com/en/knowledgebase/protocol-order-build-overview?hsLang=en)   The label, scheduling, and dosing settings on an Order Build help define how dispensing information is presented and documented throughout the prescription workflow. These configurations determine what information appears on labels, what data is required during dispensing, and how dose-related information is captured for accountability records and reporting. Required for all other protocol view permissions. **ProtocolManagement** - Protocol Management **EditProtocolDrugsOrders** - Drug management for a protocol     ### Label Name The default name of the order that goes on the label. Once order items are added, Vestigo will use the information entered to generate a default label name. This label name can be edited to the site's preferences. The Label Name value also appears in billing reports and various other reports throughout Vestigo. ![](https://vestigohelp.mccreadiegroup.com/hs-fs/hubfs/image-png-Oct-01-2026-02-20-07-1030-PM.png?width=670&height=49&name=image-png-Oct-01-2026-02-20-07-1030-PM.png) You can also use underscores to indicate where a calculated value can go that users can update during dispensation. ![](https://vestigohelp.mccreadiegroup.com/hs-fs/hubfs/image-png-Oct-01-2026-02-16-11-5394-PM.png?width=670&height=60&name=image-png-Oct-01-2026-02-16-11-5394-PM.png) **Note** - Edits to the label name do not impact historical prescriptions where the order was used.   ###### Blinding Considerations If this protocol is blinded, it is recommended to set the label name to be blinded by using something like “Drug/Placebo.” If pharmacy is the only unblinded party and has two different orders that differentiate active and placebo, it is recommended that the label name be written in a blinded manner and matching across the different orders.   ### Patient Schedule Type This is an optional field, but if set, it becomes required during dispensation. Users entering the dispense will have to enter the schedule or select the unscheduled visit option. The value entered also displays on the accountability log and the Visit column of the participant profile. ![](https://vestigohelp.mccreadiegroup.com/hs-fs/hubfs/image-png-Oct-01-2026-02-31-08-4426-PM.png?width=670&height=249&name=image-png-Oct-01-2026-02-31-08-4426-PM.png) The available options are Cycle and Day, Day, Visit, Week. ![](https://vestigohelp.mccreadiegroup.com/hs-fs/hubfs/image-png-Oct-01-2026-02-28-42-0560-PM.png?width=670&height=213&name=image-png-Oct-01-2026-02-28-42-0560-PM.png) If unscheduled is checked during dispensing, the schedule will appear blank on the participant profile and DARF. eg: C V , V , etc... **Note** - Edits to the Patient Schedule Type do not impact historical prescriptions where the order was used.   ### Dosing Weight Required This is an optional field, but if set, it becomes required to record Dosing Weight at the time of dispense. Dosing weight entry will be required on the inventory selection screen. The unit selected here is used for the Prescribed, Dispensed, and Label Quantity fields through the dispensing workflow. ![](https://vestigohelp.mccreadiegroup.com/hs-fs/hubfs/image-png-Oct-01-2026-03-12-30-4663-PM.png?width=670&height=43&name=image-png-Oct-01-2026-03-12-30-4663-PM.png) ![](https://vestigohelp.mccreadiegroup.com/hs-fs/hubfs/image-png-Oct-01-2026-03-12-06-7317-PM.png?width=543&height=269&name=image-png-Oct-01-2026-03-12-06-7317-PM.png) **Note** - Edits to the Order Units do not impact historical prescriptions where the order was used.   ###### (Mis)Matching Order and Inventory Units It is recommended that the order unit and inventory unit match, however this is not required. When the Inventory Unit and Order Unit are the same, Vestigo automatically calculates the total quantity of inventory selected and populates the Prescribed, Dispensed, and Label Quantity fields with that value. If the units do not match or there are multiple drug builds on the order, the system will default to 1. The Prescribed, Dispensed, and Label Quantity fields can be edited during dispensing, if needed.   ### Default Dose Description The default dose description for the order. This field is optional and is best used in scenarios such as: - The study requires the dose to be expressed in a certain format on the DARF. - The order build has more than one drug, allowing the dose to be expressed appropriately. - The site SOP requires specific documentation of the dose (i.e., including frequency). During dispensation, the dose description will pull in from the Dose Amount and Dose Unit (first step on the Rx).
