Checklist Templates allow users to create reusable checklists that can be loaded into multiple protocols. Templates arefacility-specific, helping each facility maintain checklist workflows that meet its individual needs. Each template contains predefined checklist steps and can be customized with a checklist type, name, description, step order, and supporting files. After a template is loaded into a protocol, users can update the checklist and its steps for that specific protocol. ![](https://vestigohelp.mccreadiegroup.com/hs-fs/hubfs/image-png-Oct-02-2026-04-06-35-1601-PM.png?width=670&height=322&name=image-png-Oct-02-2026-04-06-35-1601-PM.png) ### Required Permissions The below permissions are all related to checklists and depending on the action the user is trying to take, they may need more than one of the permissions. **ManageChecklistTemplates** - Ability to manage Checklist Templates      ### Accessing Checklist Templates Vestigo Checklist Templates can be accessed from the green navigation menu on each page. 1. Click on **Protocol Management** from the green navigation banner, 2. Click on **Protocol Management** from the green navigation banner, 2. Select **Manage Checklist Templates** 3. Select the correct Facility for the template to exist in 4. Click on **Add New** 5. Select the **Checklist Type** from the dropdown menu 6. Enter a **Name** for this checklist 7. Enter a **Description** 8. Navigate to the **Protocol** 2. Click on the **Checklists Tab** 3. Click **Manage** 4. Locate the checklist to add steps to and click on **Manage Steps** 5. Click **Add New** 6. Select a **Step** from the dropdown menu 7. (Optional) Add a **Description** - This can guide the user on how to complete the step. 8. Set a numerical number for the **Order**. This can be edited later after more steps were added. 9. (Optional) Assign a **User** from the dropdown menu. Assigned users get an alert in the Protocol Operations Alert tab 10. (Optional) Add a **Due Date** 11. (Optional) If the step has been completed and you are adding to log the step, add a **Completed Date** 12. Click the blue **Submit** button 13. To add or review documents, select **Manage Documents** next to the applicable checklist step. This means, you may have multiples of the same file name across each protocol, but they will be unique.   ### Editing a Checklist Template Checklist Templates can be updated at any time by navigating to **Protocol Management** and selecting **Manage Checklist Templates**. Locate the applicable template to edit its name or description or select **Manage Steps** to add or update the checklist steps, descriptions, and display order.  **Tip** - Any edits to the template, including new or removed steps, do not impact historical protocols where the template was imported.   ### Loading a Template into a Protocol Loading a Checklist Template can be done on any protocol, build or live mode.  ![](https://vestigohelp.mccreadiegroup.com/hs-fs/hubfs/image-png-Oct-02-2026-09-07-47-3260-PM.png?width=670&height=237&name=image-png-Oct-02-2026-09-07-47-3260-PM.png) 1. Navigate to the **Protocol** 2. Click on the **Checklists Tab** 3. Click **Manage** 4. Click **Load from Template** 5. Select the correct **Template** from the dropdown menu 6. Click the **Add Checklist** button Users will see the newly added checklist in the active checklists section.
