[Billing](https://vestigohelp.mccreadiegroup.com/en/knowledgebase/billing?hsLang=en) October 12, 2026 # Billing Overview ## Information for Vestigo billing users to understand billing charges and billing tools in Vestigo Overview of Vestigo's billing tools and processes for managing protocol and account charges, invoices, and billing accounts.  ### Overview Vestigo provides a number of tools to automate protocol and account billing. It’s important to note that billing is done to the protocol or the account and not patients or insurance companies. Vestigo supports charges associated with protocols as well as charges posted directly to a billing account without a protocol link. Scheduled or manual billing cycles use charged fees to create invoices that can be printed or emailed.   ### **Protocol Billing Charge Types** | **Charge Type** | **How It Works** | | --- | --- | | Scheduled Fees | The scheduled fee engine runs once daily and charges fees due on the run date. Examples include maintenance fees and recurring patient fees. | | Ad Hoc Fees | Authorized users add valid Vestigo fees from the Billing tab of the Protocol Snapshot page. | | Protocol Activity Fees | Fees are calculated when defined protocol activities are completed, such as enrolling a patient, dispensing a drug, receiving inventory, or closing a monitor visit or protocol. | ### **Billing Cycles and Invoices** Scheduled or manual billing cycles takes the fees that get charged and create invoices that can be printed or emailed. For many clients, we also do a custom billing extract of their fees which they can import into their hospital billing systems.
